The Liberty Village Farmers’ Market is set to start another season this Sunday June 2nd from 9am to 2pm.
For those of you who have never been to our wonderful farmers’ market, it takes place every Sunday morning from June to October and it is held in the Green P parking lot at Hanna and Liberty St.
The Liberty Village Farmers’ Market is organized by My Market, Canada’s first certified farmers’ markets featuring verified farmers, selling only what they produce. They are committed to helping shoppers enjoy the benefits of eating local as well as supporting farmers who are the “real thing”.
So, if you’re looking for local and fresh (and mostly organic) fruits, veggies, eggs and meats you absolutely must visit the Liberty Village Farmers’ Market this spring, summer and fall.
See you there!
This past Sunday, on my way to the Fall Home Show down at Exhibition Place, I bought and ate my lunch – a sub sandwich at Subway, a bag of Ruffles potato chips at International News, and a coffee at Starbucks, on King Street west of Strachan Avenue – and ate them down in Liberty Village.
Here, I’d accidently discover the Liberty Village Farmers’ Market. The produce was a little bit pricey. However, there’s free entertainment, ie. buskers singing vocals and/or playing instruments.
I’ve been watching this neighbourhood gradually metamorphose from an industrial park – Toronto’s first – into an area where people live, work, shop, dine, play, socialize – and listen to live music on Sundays in spring, summer, and autumn at a farmers’ market.
