The Blog

Liberty Commons

Liberty Commons will be offering an absolutely delicious menu on what they’re calling “Brew Year’s Eve 2018”. They will be serving a special menu featuring beef brisket, pork belly, chicken korma, or fried risotto balls. And New Year’s wouldn’t be complete without some top-shelf German ales like Rhine Stone Cowboy Kolsch Style Ale or Grasshopper Kristallweizen. Book your table here while it’s still available!

If you’re looking for a more active approach to ringing in the new year, the Midnite Run, hosted by Good Times Running, is your best bet. You can start the year off with good momentum by participating in a 5K run at midnight followed by a post-race party!

The run will take place mostly on roads and pathways used by film companies in Liberty Village. Perhaps you’ll recognize your surroundings from that one movie you really liked (but didn’t know was filmed in Toronto). You can also take in the very scenic Liberty Market Galleria while clearing your mind and lungs heading into the new year. Or you can skip the run altogether and celebrate at the Brazen Head Bar & Restaurant with runners and non-runners alike. Tickets are limited so click here to reserve your spot.

Brazenhead

An old standby yet amazing place in Liberty Village is Brazenhead. A great place to ring in 2018.

In addition to hosting the post-race party, Brazen Head Bar & Restaurant are also putting together an “East Coast inspired evening you don’t want to miss”! It will feature an Irish dinner menu, live music by Rainbeat, and best of all – NO COVER! (because it is always nice when you can save a dollar or two).

William’s Landing

Be sure to catch a view of Liberty Village as you welcome in 2018 from one of the neighbourhood’s best patios at William’s Landing. Photo credit to Meg Marshall.

Liberty Village is home to many other businesses offering up tasty food and drinks on New Year’s Eve. Don’t forget to check out William’s Landing at 120 Lynn Williams St. You can enjoy the view from their second-floor patio while filling up on their upscale-yet-casual dining and drinks menu.

Locus 144

A great spot that will allow an intimate atmosphere and delicious food is Locus 144.

If you’re looking for something a bit more intimate and low-key for the countdown, Locus 144 is your best option. Located at 144-171 East Liberty Street, Locus 144 is the perfect place to enjoy excellent charcuterie, Italian food, and delicious cocktails.

However you spend your New Year’s Eve, have fun and be sure to enjoy responsibly.
