A new slickly produced video has been released breathing fresh life into the King High Line project being proposed by condo/commercial developers Urbancorp and First Capital Realty. In a nutshell, the King High Line would see an extended pedestrian bridge constructed to connect Liberty Village with West Queen West.
The idea would capitalize heavily on Toronto’s fascination and envy of New York’s famous elevated park. The proposal would drastically increase the scale by stretching the bridge alongside the rail corridor for what looks to be a kilometre or so.
As per the King High Line website:
Linking West Queen West to Liberty Village, across King St. West and over the Georgetown rail corridor, the King High Line will connect the neighbourhoods of Parkdale, Liberty Village, West Queen West, and King Street West together with a cycling and pedestrian bridge and expanded community green space.
It’s the beginning of a new community lifestyle – a new urban experience that will shape the commuter choices of residents and provide new opportunities to neighbourhood businesses.
