Liberty Village Toronto | Your Online Neighbourhood Guide

The Blog

Fire engine red tote bags donning the Liberty Village BIA and Meridian Credit Union logos started appearing on condo door handles last week. For the second consecutive year, residents were welcomed with these tote bags full of freebies and great promotions from neighbourhood businesses. A letter from the LVRA, Councillor Mike Layton and the Liberty Village BIA was also included highlighting all of their newest initiatives. This bag will surely keep everyone busy exploring favourites, discovering new found businesses and encouraging residents to spend their time and money in their local community.

Welcome Tote by the Numbers

These tote bags have some incredible figures behind it. This initiative is the largest business to residential tangible project ever executed by a BIA in the history of Toronto (to our knowledge). Many other great events and initiatives are always happening within BIAs, but it is unprecedented to hear about something of this nature. Here is a breakdown:

  • 5500 tote bags delivered to residential units in Liberty Village
  • 30+ people involved in the stuffing, hauling and delivery logistics
  • 34 member businesses involved
  • 38 inserts per bag
  • 240000 inserts stuffed
  • savings of over $850 per bag

Something for Everyone

Whether a foodie, an entrepreneur, sports lover, animal lover, fitness fanatic or someone who just loves their community, this bag has it all. Some returning businesses from last year are back in the tote including Liberty Village Home Hardware, For the Love of Cake, Pearle Vision and Smooth Wax.

Food lovers will get to wine and dine at some local favourites like William’s Landing, Bespoke Butchers, Paramount Fine Foods, Pizzaville, Panago, Big Rock Brewery at Liberty Commons, Live Organic and more.

Fitness conscious individuals will enjoy the promotional offers from F45, Joe Rock Head’s and Pure Yoga Toronto. All of these places offer a great workout and experience for fitness journeys. Who knew we had such variety here?

Looking for something to do? Check out the ticket from the MZTV Museum or take a jump back in time and watch a show of knights and royalty with Medieval Times. Major sports teams or events call Liberty Village area home, so buy some discounted tickets and cheer on the Toronto Wolfpack, Toronto Argos, or watch the Honda Indy.

New to Liberty Village and or to the tote bags include Liberty Organic, eGallery, Coach House Law, and Liberty Tattoo Removal. A couple of businesses that may not be as obvious include Jukebox Print and StickerYou. Many other amazing companies that haven’t been mentioned are in the bag and are well worth exploring.

Use The Tote With Pride

The tote bag itself means a lot. Show others around the city and beyond some Liberty Village pride. Conveniently, the bag encompasses a patriotic color, perfect for Canada Day yet also reflects the branding of the Liberty Village BIA. Use again and again to have a green impact on the neighbourhood!
