Liberty Village Toronto | Your Online Neighbourhood Guide

The Blog

If you’re looking to take your workout to a whole new level (and avoid the whole scene in the Goodlife Fitness), there’s a military-style training camp in Liberty Village.

Held at Lamport Stadium, the Gatorade O Course is a challenging obstacle course race that’s fused with military-style mental and physical conditioning. It’s lead by Sgt. Tony A., a 22-year US Marine Drill Instructor (so it’s the real deal).

The first training event of its kind, the O Course is designed to test and develop strength, stamina, endurance, and willpower through intense military training.

Picture something out of a movie scene, whereby 600 fellow participants will feed off of one another’s energy, yelling “UH-RAH” in unison as they are pushed beyond their limits by the Sgt.

After a successful season last year, the number of participants has doubled, prompting relocation of the event to Lamport Stadium.

Participants are encouraged to register early for remaining dates as they fill up quickly: July 4, July 25, Aug 22 and on September 19. The September event is the Pink O Course in support of Rethink Breast Cancer.

Pre-registration is $40, or $35 with a team of six, drop-ins pending space.

The O Course is the brainchild of Fit Factory Fitness, the city’s only authentic military boot camp.
