As part of a regular feature at Liberty Village Toronto, we will be spotlighting local living options. We are truly passionate about Toronto’s real estate, with Liberty Village being our special focus. Today’s post will showcase 55 East Liberty St, more commonly referred to as Bliss Condos.

Back in 2005 when developers Can Alfa set up their first sales centre at 80 Lynn Williams St, Liberty Village was considerably different in appearance from what it is today. At this stage, the only significant development that had transpired were the Liberty Village Townhomes just completed along Western Battery Rd and East Liberty Street. Battery Park Tower at 50 Lynn Williams was under construction and the sales centre was getting ready to launch sales on their two first towers, Liberty Village Tower and Bliss Condo, phase 1 and phase 2 respectively.

Can Alfa’s marketing emphasis was on demographic diversity or the “unorthodox mix…a mix of types from artists to filmmakers, computer geeks to the self-employed, Bay St lawyers to financiers”. Sounds like a nice mix doesn’t it? When the sales centre opened and launched, buyers came running. They were attracted to the fresh allure of Liberty Village and the good value these condos were offering. The price-point was very attractive.

After the usual delays, 55 East Liberty St was completed in spring 2011. It is a condo building consisting of 20 floors and 276 units. Finishes and features include 9ft ceilings, granite kitchen counter tops, laminate flooring, stainless steel appliances and practical and spacious floor plans. Building amenities include 24hr concierge, a gym, indoor pool, sauna, communal terrace with BBQ facilities and party room. There are a combination a flat traditional condos and 2-storey loft-style condos.

The pricing is still somewhat reasonable for such a well-located building (but not as reasonable as they were pre-construction).  You can still buy a 1-bedroom under 600sqft (no parking) for about $300,000. Larger 1 bedroom plus dens will cost between $370,000 and $429,000 depending on layouts, views and finishes, all with parking. The large 2-bedrooms plus dens will costs about $515,000, all of which are over 1000sqft.

Bliss Condos and 55 East Liberty St is a great choice for people looking to take advantage of Liberty Village and downtown Toronto’s best features.
