The latest news regarding the Strachan Ave construction was released today and will cause significant disruptions to those who regularly use Strachan Ave.

Starting June 11 until 29th, Strachan Ave will be closed to vehicular traffic from East Liberty Street to just north of Douro/Wellington Streets.

This will be required to complete the connection of the new sewer tunnel chamber located below Strachan.

The work will affect Liberty Village residents in the following ways:

-From June 11 – 29th there will be NO through traffic along Strachan Ave from East Liberty St to just north of Douro/Wellington Sts.

-The west sidewalk will be closed to pedestrians but the east side walk will be open.

-Paid duty officers will be present to direct traffic and assist pedestrians.

-TTC will be diverting the 63 Ossington bus for the duration of the closure.

Word is that these dates are not finalized and that the closures could last for “a couple more weeks” depending on construction progress.

Oh joy!
