Live Organic – 134 Atlantic Avenue – Closed (and we are sad to see you go)
Live Organic specializes in veggie boxes, bowls, and wraps among other favourites. A lot of the mixes here include cashew cheddar, sour cream-based sauces, and more. Rated one of the best vegetarian restaurants in Toronto, anyone can appreciate and enjoy the vegan, gluten-free aesthetic found here.
Mildred’s Temple Kitchen – 85 Hanna Avenue
Mildred’s has a number of vegetarian, gluten-free, and vegan options if you’re able to catch them while they’re open. There are a mix of salads to choose from and some other menu items that have proven to be quite the hit with the local Liberty Village residents. The great thing about Mildred’s Temple Kitchen is that they offer a range of foods that work well for both vegetarians and their non-vegetarian counterparts.
School – 70 Fraser Avenue
School is not vegetarian per se however as a bakery, café, bar, and restaurant, there’s plenty of menu items sure to satisfy one’s vegetarian appetite. Consistently rated as one of the best brunch restaurants in Toronto, you can find French toast, pancakes, breakfast poutine, plenty of bakery delights, blueberry pancakes (yum!), and a number of tasty juices. In terms of breakfast and brunch restaurants in the neighborhood, it doesn’t get much better than this.
Garden Gangster – 171 East Liberty St Unit 127A
Specializing in healthy foods targeting breakfast, lunch/dinner, and beverages, there are loads of veggie-friendly options in this healthy take-out spot. Some of their more requested items includes tasty smoothies and cold pressed juices, perfect for when you’re out on a walk through the neighborhood.
As Liberty Village’s health-conscious crowd has grown in recent years, Garden Gangsters is yet another brand that has moved into the neighborhood seeking to make an impression.
Freshii – 85 Hanna Avenue
For health-minded vegetarian options, Freshii is for you. They’ve consistantly produced some amazing tossed-to-order salads in addition to several non-vegetarian options. If you’re looking for a good sized veggie salad, Freshii is somewhere you might want to try. It’s a great spot to pick up a bite to eat in the summer and the food here is nothing less than delicious. Though it can get a little busy, if you know when to go, you can get in and out quite quickly.
