Liberty Village Job Seeking

Who wouldn’t want to work in Liberty Village? With easy access to transit systems, a roster of amazing companies in the neighbourhood, and the preservation of many historical buildings, it is certainly a great area. The food and fitness establishments are always growing allowing for a fantastic selection of options. The City of Toronto noted in 2007 that there were 400 companies and approximately 7000 employees. In 2016, the Liberty Village BIA notes that there are over 600 businesses employing 10000 workers. The question then lies, where can interested candidates find these jobs? Besides the standard sites like Indeed.ca, Kijiji and Workopolis, we found a few more local avenues to consider.

Job Start

This not-for-profit agency is available to help job seekers face to face when they visit them at their office.

Located at 219 Dufferin St, with an easy to spot exterior entrance, Job Start is, “…a community based, not-for-profit agency connecting people looking for work with employers looking to hire.” They have access to many job postings available within Liberty Village and beyond. Liberty Village BIA Job Board

Many companies email the LVBIA directly to post their jobs and they are also promoted on some of their social media channels.

The Liberty Village BIA has a job board specifically listing job vacancies exclusively within Liberty Village. Member businesses send their job postings to the BIA who have created an easy, one stop resource. Learn about businesses in our neighborhood that may not previously have been known! West Neighborhood House

This is a great place to upgrade skills and find out about some job opportunities.

This not for profit organization is located at 1033 King St W, near the intersection of King St. W and Shaw St. West Neighbourhood House, “offers Employment Programs to help youth and adults in our community get training and experience they need to find stable work.” To learn more, visit their website or follow them on Facebook and Twitter.

Facebook Group: Liberty Village Jobs in the Hood

Finding a job could be as easy as looking on Facebook from your smart phone!

The power of Facebook can be incredible! A hyper local Facebook group called Liberty Village Jobs in the Hood is key place to find both short term and permanent positions.. It may be a one day odd job or the next career change that can be found here. Some business owners/operators post directly to this group so candidates can ask the key people directly! Check back often.

Liberty Village will soon see and even bigger surge of companies and employees call their place of employment home here! The redevelopments of 80 Atlantic Ave and 58 Atlantic Ave will significantly increase the commercial space in the years to come.
