Winterlicious - Liberty Village Toronto

Hurray, it’s back! The Winterlicious portion of the semi-annual culinary event organized by The City of Toronto Special Events Department will be held from January 27th until February 9th. During the Summerlicious portion held last year, one Liberty Village restaurant, The Craft Brasserie participated. For this winter segment of this restaurant showcase, The Craft is returning with Mildred’s Temple Kitchen being added to the roster.

Creation of Winterlicious

The event began in the winter of 2003. Being hosted during one of the historically slower periods of the winter, it was intended to boost revenue and exposure for the restaurant industry. In its inaugural year, 35 restaurants participated. Now into its fifteenth winter season, it has approximately 220 restaurants. The establishments are in various neighbourhoods of the cities, all offering various types of cuisine to reflect the diversity of Toronto.

Since its inception, there have been over 6.2 million Licious meals served (both Winterlicious and Summerlicious combined), as noted by the City of Toronto. In addition, the Licious program has generated an astounding $275 million for the City in its 15 years.

YP Dine is the presenting sponsor of the events for 2017.

They will be offering a $18 prix-fixed menu for lunch which includes their savoury Coconut Chicken Rice Bowl as an option for the main. On the prix-fixed dinner menu, priced at $28, the infamous and hearty Craft Burger is available. Both meal options have a choice of three delectable desserts.

Their prix-fixed menu is priced at $38 a meal. Start with some delicious crab cakes or a great salad. Follow it up with a main dish including duck and waffles or pan seared cod. Finally, end the meal with a choice of three desserts.
