Sure, we are fans of the HGTV/Bravo TV shows Million Dollar Listing LA and Million Dollar Listing New York. We enjoy it for its outrageous characters, mega homes and huge price-tags but as real-life real estate agents we can easily recognize that this show is all about entertainment and not really about selling houses.
The world that Million Dollar Listing portrays has very little to do with reality. I know for a fact that this show is scripted, written and acted in a very deliberate way. The reality of the property selling transaction can be very exciting/intense/stressful but worlds away from how it is portrayed on Million Dollar Listing. In fact, I have been on HGTV shows and can tell you most of the real estate shows are scripted and planned.
Anyway, let’s imagine for a second Million Dollar Listing Liberty Village is a real show. As your neighbourhood real estate pros, it goes with out saying that Heikki and I would make up 2/3rds of the cast (and yes, we can be equally entertaining). What properties would we be showing our million dollar clients? Surely it wouldn’t be the 500sqft or 700sqft Liberty Village condos we sell so many of. No. That wouldn’t cut it. Let’s have a look at the mega condos that we would show in Liberty Village:
