As reported in the Parkdale Villager, the possibility of having a Toronto Casino on the Exhibition grounds has proven to be an extremely hot-button topic with strong views on both sides.
Residents and business owners in Liberty Village, directly north of the Ex, have been offered an opportunity to share their views with councillor Mike Layton and fellow Liberty Villagers. The discussion will be on March 14th, from 5:30 – 7:30pm at the Brazen Head.
“If a casino were to be built at Exhibition Place, Councillor Mike Layton said his constituents in Liberty Village would be left living in the shadow of it.”
“Traffic in and out of the neighbourhood is congested at the best of times, add to that casino traffic and it would be nearly impossible,” Layton said. “The figures are something like 10,000 more cars every eight hours. That is a lot of traffic.”
