The Liberty Village Residents’ Association has just announced that they will be hosting MOVIE NIGHT in Liberty Village on Friday September 21st.

As a Thank-You for all the disruption with the ongoing construction in the area, The LVRA has obtained sponsorship from Ellis Don and Metrolinx to host this move event in Liberty Park.

The movie, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off will be projected on a large 25 foot inflatable screen.  The sponsorship also includes free soft drinks and light snacks.  This event welcomes both Liberty Village residents AND those who work in Liberty Village.

Tentative plans have been made with Donna Dooher of Mildred’s Temple Kitchen and Claudio Aprile of Origin Liberty to provide picnic dinner boxes to take along to the park for movie night.   The idea is that people could pre-order their picnic dinner and pick it up before the movie.

The movie will start at 8pm and the organizers want to have a mini Liberty Village film festival for 30 minutes starting at 7:30pm.

The LVRA is inviting any resident or business in Liberty Village to submit a short film, or even a commercial they have done for screening during this 30 minute festival.  Music for the event will probably start at around 7pm.

Rain date has been scheduled for Saturday September 22nd.

More details to come but put it in your calendar.
